Health Challenge 2

Most of the people who go to gym think that they know everything about calorie management of the human body.

They tell everybody that spending 1 to 2 hours in the gym is very demanding work. Most of the people suggest exercise without any significant rest in between.

A small challenge –

Do the skipping – you can skip the rope. You can skip the depth of jump. Simple jumps for 10 to 15 seconds at a time.

And then 1 hour rest.

Is that not the coolest thing. How many gym instructors can do that.

And last for a week.

I repeat a simple thing. 10 to 15 seconds skipping without ropes or with ropes. 15 times a day. Catch is – you have to take 1 hour rest between with spell of skipping.

Now there is another supporter from famous Forbes.com to support my theory of moderate activity.

The world has started learning.

Any excessive exercise causes inflammation and will further cause in increase in weight after some time. Doing mild exercises like walking for 5 minutes 3 times in one hour should help. See earlier post for explanation

Calorie calculations for Weight Loss

Advantages of Interval Walking over any other form of Weight Loss program

  • Almost every body, with even mild disability, can walk. My parents are 82 years. I have advised them to walk 40 steps every 30 minutes. And it is doing wonders so far.
  • Walking burns 5 calories per minute.
  • Walking for 5 minutes does not tire you out in most of the cases of people below 60 years of age.
  • Walking 5 minutes every hour will burn 25 calories. 5 x 5 calories
  • Walking for 16 hours a day for 5 minutes every hour will burn 16 x 25 = 400 calories.
  • The resting metabolic rate of a over weight person is about 1.1 to 1.25 calories per minute.
  • After walking for 5 minutes, the resting metabolic rate will start coming back to normal levels of 1.1 to 1.25. But that will not happen all of a sudden. After first 5 minutes the resting metabolic rate may come down to 4 calories per minute. By the end of hour hour the resting metabolic rate may still be 1.5 or above. That will take the average metabolic rate for 1 hour to above 2. Let us take it to be 2 calories per minute.
  • In 24 hours there are 1440 minutes. That will translate to 0.75 x 1440 = 1080 calories.
  • Total calories burnt in 24 hours due to walking will be 1080 + 400 = 1480.
  • This translates to loss of 400 grams every day in 3 days if food intake is restricted to previous level of 1800 to 2000 calories per day.
  • However after some initial weight loss the food intake can be increased to compensate for high calorie burning.
  • Alternatively walking can be reduced to 5 minutes every 90 minutes or 120 minutes.
  • Weight Loss of 4 to 5 kg a month is very safe weight loss.
  • However 1480 calorie deficit in 24 hours is very high and will cause extreme fatigue which people would not be willing to admit.
  • So walking for 5 minutes every hour for 3 hours in morning and 3 hours in the evening can do wonders to your body weight.

So Happy weight loss for your life.

Similar pattern can be used for weight gain and strength building with some additional water routines thrown in.

Weight Loss Science

Weight Loss Science

  • Get up early in the day.
  • Walk at normal pace for 5 to 10 minutes in the comfort your home (700 to 1200 steps – Use android app – Pedometer to count your steps).
  • Rest or sleep in bed for 20 minutes.
  • Repeat the above 3 more times.

At the end of the above you would have walked 700 x 4 to 1200 x 4 steps (2800 to 4800 steps).

If you miss to get up early, do not worry – You can do the above whenever you feel like in the day or even before your go to bed.

I think it cannot get better then this. So go for it. You should be losing 1-2 kg per month. That is the healthiest way to healthy weight. No believe me there will be no side effects.

Now it is time to look at some facts.

Facts

  • There are 1440 minutes in a day (24 hours).
  • A person consumes 2100 to 2800 calories in 24 hours.
  • That translates into 1.5 to 2 calories per minute.
  • Most of the above calories are spent in the processes meant to sustain life. A person confined to bed would also need at least 80% of the above calories to sustain life.
  • When the rate of calorie burning increases the body releases lactic acid or whatever it may be.

Some Good references

Science or logical thinking

  • High intensity exercises burn about 10 calories per minute (though I have doubts on this, but for argument sake I will not dispute this – it will be debated later in future posts).
  • An overweight person finds it difficult to do high intensity exercise for more than 5 t 10 minutes. Let us say 30 minutes (for argument sake).
  • Extra calories burnt would be (10-2) = 8 x 30 = 240 in 24 hours.
  • Now the person is fatigued. Tired. What does it mean?
  • Fatigue means that life processes (heart, brain, kidneys, liver and other essential life processes) are not getting enough energy to sustain.
  • Through fatigue the body lowers the calorie burning rate of these life processes to compensate for extra calories burnt.
  • So you are advised to do stretches are high intensity exercises. But do they help – There are serious doubts. The facts and figures say that these stretches harm the body in the long run.
  • Now if you start burning 1.75 calories per minute after getting tired – you are recover 1410 x 0.25 calories in rest of the day. That is 352 calories. So what is the point in doing the exercise.
  • But most of the people would lose weight initially. That is the point where the lactic acid or other acid production is not too much to lower the basic (idle) calorie burning. As the days go by the build of acid increase.
  • Any way – what have been doing during exercise? We are dehydrating at a pace more then we are hydrating ourselves. This is uneven dehydration. There are certain organs involved in the above exercises. They dehydrate at a faster pace then rest of the body. Acids try to balance this uneven dehydration in the body through acid production.

What you can do verify the above statements

  • I am not focused to write much on this at this point of time. Will add more to this later. SO keep coming back to this web site section. At this point only point comes to my mind.
  • Immediately after you engage in high intensity exercise, do you bed and try to sleep. You breath will get to normal or below normal in few minutes. And after few minutes (30 minutes) you will have no desire to go to for another round of high intensity exercises.
  • Now after walking for 5 to 10 minutes as suggested by me, while you are in bed, you breath for the whole period of 30 minutes at a faster pace. And you love the idea of doing the same again. That means your body is in a mood to burn more calories.
  • Whenever you burn extra calories you dehydrate at a faster pace. That does not mean that you should keep drinking water all the time. You can lose weight only if you dehydrate. But these dehydration should be evenly spread through out the body do that this dehydration is not severe on one organ.
  • Excessive dehydration is fatal to the organs. So go for drinking 8 to 12 glasses of water once in a week. Rest of the days you should manage without 200 ml water 1 hour before each meal. That translates into 600 ml water in 24 hours.

What does the above means

  • Walking for 10 minutes burns extra calories during the period you walk.
  • While you are in bed it keeps burning extra calories and tries to seek high idle metabolic rate. Meaning that you calorie burning per minute will be 2.1 or higher for the entire day (if you can spread these exercises through out the day. Do these exercises 2-4 times during the day.
  • 2-4 times the above routines may result into 3 to 5 kg weight lose per day.

Calorie Calculations

  • Average person eats 2000 to 2800 calories in a day.
  • In a day there are 24 hours. ie. 24 x 60 = 1440 minutes.
  • The above translates to 1.5 to 2 calories per minute.
  • Bulk of these calories are required to run the vital organs of the body eg Heart, Kidneys, Blood Circulation, Lungs, Liver, Blood Pressure etc. Even during sleeping a person requires about same calories.
  • During sleep body carries out more important job of clearing the body of things that are causing inflammation and repair. This is very energy intensive activities. Due to this reason it is carried out at night during sleep. Metabolic activities are also energy intensive. Hence during sleep no metabolic activities are carried out. So that there is no shortage of energy during sleep.
  • Now when a person does very high intensity exercises his calorie consumption goes as high as 10 calories per minute. But a person struggling with weight management will find it very difficult to engage in very high intensity exercises. An average person cannot do very high intensity exercises for more than 10-15 minutes. The calorie consumption drops immediately after stopping the exercises. After about 1 hour the calorie consumption goes below normal. In most of the cases, for the rest of the day the calorie consumption shall remain 0.25 calories per minute less then normal calorie consumption.
  • In 10-15 minutes of very high intensity exercise the extra calories burnt will be 15 minutes x 8 calories extra burning (10 calories during exercise – calories during normal activities) = 120 calories.
  • For rest of 23 hours (23 x 60 = 1380 minutes) the calorie consumption shall remain low by 0.25 calories per minute. So that will add 1380 x 0.25 calories = 345.
  • So there is not gain in calorie. So in such a situation the person will gain weight.

Exercise are useful in people who can engage in exercises almost for more than 12 hours, even if very mild exercises. That is not possible for most of people in the absence of any motivation.

So what is the solution

  • Do very milk exercise for 15 seconds. That will increase calorie burning by 1 calories per minute.
  • Since it is a very milk warm up, this will not cause any fatigue.
  • During the next hour the body will keep burning slightly more than average calories.
  • So the average calorie consumption for one hour during this hour shall be 0.25 calories more.
  • Repeat the mild exercise every hour. So your average calorie consumption shall be 0.25 calories per minute more than normal calorie consumption.
  • 0.25 x 1440 (number of minutes in 24 hours) = 360 calories a day.
  • And in 12 hours you will do mild exercises only for 12 x 15 seconds = 180 seconds = 3 minutes in 12 hours.
  • That is not difficult even for the heaviest person on this earth.

Trick here

  • Any increase in calorie consumption is met from release of sugar from cells and tissues.
  • After a period of 3-4 days the person will find it very difficult to continue the exercise of the same organ.
  • But the energy required for exercise of an organ is taken from that organ only. It does not borrow sugar from other organs. There are scientific studies to prove this point.
  • So every hour change the organs involved in mild exercise.
  • Another point will be to eat 1/2 spoon sugar every hour.
  • 1/2 spoon adds 8 calories of sugar. That is 12 x 8 = 96 calories.
  • Still you will have a net loss of 360-96 = 264 calories a day.
  • Along with sugar the body burns proteins and lot of other minerals. So this is the time when a person can plan to attain perfect health if these are combined with the water routines mentioned in the Home page of this web site. www.healthyindianow.in

Recap Water Routines

Number 1

  • Drink 200 ml water on Day 1 every hour. Total will be 200 x 12 = 2400 ml. Not excessive from any angle. Disease persons may drink 50 to 100 ml per hour.
  • Drink no water or other liquids during Day 1 night, Day 2 and night of Day 2.
  • However it is difficult to stay without water for 36 hours. So initially a person should try to stay without water till after noon and then drink small quantities of water.
  • Repeat the Day 1 and Day 2 for about 10-15 days. In every next repetition increase the time by 1-2 hours.
  • In 10 days or so a person is likely to get used staying without water for 36 hours. After that one can repeat this water routine every 15 days to reach a very healthy body.

Number 2

  • Drink 100 ml water for 3 hours with 15 minutes gap after getting up in the morning. That will be 100 x 12 = 1200 ml water in 3 hours.
  • After drinking water a person should walk for 3-4 minutes and then rest sitting.
  • After this 3 hours do not drink any water or liquid for rest of the day except between 6-7 PM.
  • Between 6 pm to 7 pm again drink the same amount of water as in morning. eg 100 ml every 15 minutes. That will add 400 ml water.
  • This way also a person shall get used to staying without water for 36 hours. So after 10 days or so the person can try routine number 1 once in 15-30 days for long term relief or better health.

Weight Loss without exercise

Weight Loss without exercise

Weight Loss without exercise

  • There are 100s of myths about things that can help you to lose weight.Weight Loss without exercise
  • There are 100s of myths about things that can cause you to gain weight.
  • But if either of the myths were true than a person trying to lose weight will disappear after some time in the effort to lose weight. That will be the case if person keeps on losing weight endlessly or
  • The things which cause to gain weight will make a person explode after some time. That will be case if keeps on adding weight.

But that does not happen. Why?

Weight Loss without exercise

That is the body’s defence system. At one time the body does not do things endlessly. It has checks and stops after every effort to help a person not get into undesirable situation.

Few days back I started experimenting with consumption of sugar to lose weight. I advised people to eat 1/2 tea spoon of sugar after every hour. People were supposed to eat about 3-4 tea spoons of sugar in 24 hours. Each spoon has about 15 calories. So total added calories were 45 to 60 in 24 hours. That was supposed to pep up the metabolic system. I have been hearing that weight gain is mainly due to poor metabolic system of the person. The results were on expected lines. People who tried the concept lost 2-3 kg weight in first 4-5 days. Then further weight loss stopped. In fact people got back 50% of the lost weight in next 2-3 days.

It also caused water gain. Loss of stamina etc. Suddenly it struck me that this is due to natural defence systems of the body. I advised a person of 21 years of age to start adding salt 1/4 spoon of salt to his water after 4-5 days of sugar consumption. The results shocked me. The person started losing weight and his weight went beyond the previous lowest recorded weight in 48 hours.

The most important thing was more shocking and convincing. After any weight loss program the person is saddled with lose skin. But in case of that person his skin started coming off. There was newer and tightened skin underneath.

It is suggested that one should drink about 8 to 10 glasses of water on days when there is increased sugar consumption. That will take care of any excess sugar in the body.

The other important thing about the body is that – in case we start consuming any new thing – say amla – it gives lot of benefits. Whatever we consume after a long time it accepted by the body very well. The consumption of new thing also prepares the body for any excess consumption after 2-3 days.

The excess body weight is thought to be due to FAT accumulation in the body. If we eat sugar on empty stomach, that should increase the FAT burning in the body without causing any adverse effect. So eating sugar before any mild exercise may help in reducing weight.

One of the ideal regimen could be to eat one meal overloaded with carbs (sugars), second meal overloaded with FATs and 3rd meal overloaded with proteins.

The above regimen will help the body get rid of excesses in the body in a much better way.

Very mild exercises along with the above regimen will help lose weight rapidly without any side effects. These mild exercises should be repeated for 1 minute every hour. The information about the weight that you can expect to lose and the facts associated with the weight loss are given in the end.

I still can not believe that this way the weight loss can be carried on till a person reaches the weight that he wants. There is a flip side to this theory.

Whether the person will be able to manage the weight after he reaches the desired weight.

If that happens – this world will be much more happier.

Logic Behind the above regimen

Weight Loss without exercise

Average consumption of an adult is 2100 to 2500 calories in a day (24 hours). There are 1440 minutes in a day. That makes it 1.5 calories per minute. An overweight person already has poor metabolic system. What does that mean?

Weight Loss without exercise

Poor metabolic system – means that the body can not produce enough calories to take care of the energy requirements of the vital organs and systems – The body needs energy (calories) FOR HEART, LIVER, BRAIN, BLOOD CIRCULATION, KIDNEY FUNCTION, TO MAINTAIN BLOOD TEMPERATURE ETC.

It is not possible for an overweight person without exception willpower to exercise and burn even 200-300 calories a day. Even if he manages to exercise the immediate impact of the exercise will be on vital organs. The energy available to them will get reduced to provide extra energy for exercise. That will cause further damage to the vital organs and health in general. So that is no good.

Dieting is also more harmful. The immediate impact is on vital organs. The energy available to vital organs is reduced.

If the person who wishes to reduce weight gets extra calories which are not to be digested/ processed (digestion is very energy intensive process) his resting metabolic rate and functioning of the vital organs will improve. The only thing to take care is – that at any point of time hte consumption of sugar should not exceed the point at which it may be required to be converted into FAT. Because that is a energy intensive process and will deprive the vital organs of energy.

Calculations to prove that the above weight loss has better chances of succeeding

Weight Loss without exercise

  • The weight gain is due to low metabolic rate.
  • Average intake is 2100-2500 calories in 24 hours. That means a person burns 1.5 calories per minute even when sleeping.
  • A person burns 85% sugar and 15% FATs while resting. While doing moderate exercise a person burns 50% FATs. And a person can exercise for long periods of time.
  • Doing intensive exercises burns 85%FAT and 10% sugar and 5% proteins. Exercises which burn 25% FATs are very good. These will not cause any fatigue.
  • There are 1440 minutes in 24 hours. So increase in resting metabolic rate by 0.2 calories per minute will help a person burn 288 extra calories per day.
  • By burning 3500 extra calories a person loses 400 gram weight. Very mild exercises every hour for 1 minute can results in extra calorie burning of 0.5 per minute. That is 720 calories in 24 hours. But that is very tiring if the body has to take this extra calorie need by converting FATs.
  • I would suggest to consume at least 100 calories by eating sugar to keep fatigue at bay.
  • When we take any thing in excess, the body digests / absorbs that very well. If we stop taking the thing in excess the body still processes that particular thing as if it is in excess. Every major function of the body has a memory. If we drink 10 to 15 glasses of water the urine output will increase on day 1. If we stop drinking water on day 2 – even on day 2 the urine output will be more.
  • Any person who is on a mission to reduce weight and FAT can try – to consume only carbs on day 1. FATs on day 2 and Proteins on day 3. Better and safer way will be to take one meal of each of carbs, FATs and Proteins. Or still better take one meal each by eating these days in excess.
  • Always remember no body has lost FAT by reducing the FAT consumption. No body has cured himself of diabetics by limiting the intake of carbs. No body has cured himself of high blood pressure by limiting salt.
  • An engine which runs on a fuel has an ideal mix of fuel and air. At ideal mix the vehicle gives better average. Means it burns more energy. In our body we have carbs, fats and proteins to burn. Unless we have ideal mix of these we will not get the best results.
  • When we exercise, we force our body to burn fuels in different mix ratios. During exercise we may hit the ideal mix of fuels. But only for some time. Later body returns to poor mixing of fuels. Most of gains are offset later.
  • The symptom of Poor metabolic rate is lethargy, laziness and poor stamina. These all happen after exercise. If we add carbs at a time when we feel low on energy we push our bodies towards ideal mix of fuels. But excess of carbs at any point of time will force our body to convert some into fat. Regular storage of carbs into fats also consume energy lowering our metabolic rate in general. Small quantities of sugar give a better control to handle low metabolic rate without causing excess of carbs. Reducing food intake is no solution to increase our metabolic rate.
  • Any way – adding salt to water once in a week is strongly recommended by me. This will beat the defence system of body which stop the weight loss after some time.
  • Gujarati people use sugar almost in every dish. The percentage of Gujarati people being obese is much less then people of other states.
  • People put on weight after 30 yrs of age. The sugar consumption of people fall after age 30 due to job, family commitments and health concerns. Some people lose weight after 50. That could be due to loss of vital organ processes. That is the sign of weakness and loss of strength.

The Facts that most people would have heard:

  • Dieting does not help lose weight. Reason – Body gets into defence mode and start saving calories.
  • Exercise does not help lose weight. Reason – After exercise the body gets into defence mode and starts conserving calories.
  • Drinking plenty of water is good for overall health.
  • etc.

What happens when a person exercises

  • Exercise causes more energy to be burnt.
  • The energy that is ready to be burnt is in blood. Energy ready to be spent is in Blood in the form of Sugar and FATs.
  • When we eat more calories but burn less calories the blood carries less calories. The rest is stored away.
  • Based on the previous use of calories the blood carries less calories in case of a person who does not do regular exercise.
  • A person who does not exercise regularly, has less stamina. That means his blood carries less calories and tends to store excess calories else where.
  • Carrying excessive calories in blood is harmful for the body. It damages vital organs of the body. That is why pancreas with insulin etc are made.
  • When a person starts exercise his stamina starts improving. His blood starts carrying more calories.
  • But the moment the person stops exercise, suddenly there is build up of excess calories in the blood. This is very harmful for the body. As a defence the body becomes more careful for future and starts saving much less calories in the blood.

Example –

  • A person burns 2000 calories in 24 hours without exercise.
  • The person starts exercising. Burns 200-400 extra calories. Feels tired soon. The extra calories have to come from the stored calories (FAT etc). The rate of conversion from FAT to triglycerides is less then calories spent in exercise. So soon a person starts feeling tired.
  • The person feels tired because the energy need for vital organs is diverted for external activities (exercise)
  • When exercise is stopped there is urge to eat and cover up the shortage of energy. If the person gives in to the urge, the excess energy burned is regained and there is no weight lose.
  • If the person controls the urge, he will remain tired for most of the time for next few days. So his basal metabolic rate will come down. The net result will be no calorie deficit.
  • The vital organs will come under stress as they get less energy.
  • This is a vicious circle.

What is the solution

  • There has to be continuous slow conversion of FATs into triglycerides for use in the body.
  • The pace has to be so slow that the energy available to the vital organs is not reduced. If the vital organs’ working improves, there will be reason for the body to start storing more calories in the blood on regular basis.
  • Exercise for 30 seconds every hour. The 30 seconds exercise will increase calorie burning for the rest of 1 hour. This is evident from the results of exercise. After such a short exercise the person feels more alert, his reflexes are better. These are indications that all vitals are working harder then before.
  • In idle state a normal person burns 1 to 1.5 calories. By such small exercise there are chances of increasing the basal metabolic rate to 1.5 from 1. That is 1440 extra calories in 24 hours.
  • But I am not able to see weight lose by the above exercise. But there is huge jump in endurance and working capacity. Yes in long run it seems to help in getting rid of all excess weight.

New Facts about use of sugar before, during and after exercises

  • There is almost no information any where – as to how much sugar is needed for the body on daily basis. There is so much hype on this topic.
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar has 15 calories.
  • Sugar acts as a buffer and does not allow sharp changes in blood acid levels all of sudden due to exercise and acidic or alkaline food.
  • Sugar reduces the gas formation.
  • Sugar impacts the same portion of the brain that is impact that is impacted by drugs of abuse.
  • Sugar help in constructive jobs in the body. Salt helps in deconstructing the body. This is equally important to the body as sugar (construction) is. There can be no new construction without first deconstructing the things in body. So both are very essential.
  • People who are Obese and FAT can not control their intake of sugar and food. Hence it is difficult for them to reduce weight,
  • healthy people restrict their intake of sugar which has extremely severe side effects – Insomnia, depression, thyroid, weight gain after few years, and all things related to metabolic syndrome like High Blood Pressure, High Blood Sugar.
  • Excess intake of sugar does no good to the body. But right amount of sugar is the best medicine in this world.
  • Eat 1/2 teaspoon of sugar every hour thru out the day. Eat 1/2 teaspoon of sugar 10 minutes before meal and 10 minutes after a meal.
  • Total calorie intake of upto 150 from sugar is perfectly ok for the body.
  • I personally believe that the above suggested intake of sugar should cure high Blood sugar in 7 to 30 days in a person.
  • But be careful which doing the above. Always take blood sugar readings 2 times a day while following the above.

Some more Facts about Sugar

  • Today (31st march 2014) I downloaded an Android App – Instant heart Rate. In the Heart Zone – The following is mentioned.
  • Our body is fueled by 85% Carbs, 10% Sugar and 5% Protein.
  • Those who wish to lose weight should exercise so that the body is fueled by 50% sugar and 50% FAT. This way they can exercise for long durations.
  • It further said that if a person does intensive exercises, the body will start burning 85% sugar, 10% FAT and 5% Proteins. In this phase the person who burn Proteins and hence overall metabolic rate of the person will come down.
  • Now a question comes to my mind – What do we achieve by intensive exercise and can we do the same thing without exercising?
  • I think that is possible – Let me say how –

Losing Weight Requirements

  • Body should be burning more than 30% of Sugar and 70% of FAT.
  • At 10% Sugar and 85% FAT composition of the body, the FAT will not be burned effectively.
  • We should increase the sugar content to 30%. That will fuel more fat to be burned.
  • Digestion is energy intensive process. More ready sugar will help in better digestion.
  • We will never be tired. The first thing that a weight loser has to deal with is fatigue. High Sugar content will ensure that the person is not tired.
  • Lactic Acid is released only when body starts burning 85% sugar and 15% FAT. That is a condition which is very dangerous for heart and other vital organs. Release of Lactic Acid is a defence system.

Today I am very confused about the whole weight lose theories. So I make one more attempt at revisiting my life from childhood.

When I was about 10-13 year I was among healthy children with lot of power. I remember eating tonnes of sugar in those days. Whenever  I did not like the food cooked in the home, I would eat the Roti or Pranthas with Desi Ghee and Sugar (Or Gur). And believe me there will be plenty of Ghee and Sugar consumption. I used to eat in a big way.

Since childhood I was good in academics. But there were ups and downs as well. I got good marks in 10th class. Around that time I became conscious of doing exceedingly well in 12th exams.

Around this time some one told me that eating less and drinking tea and coffee helps in improving brain performance. I was always a person who would live to try extremes. I gave up all food. Earlier I used to eat at least 12 to 15 rotis or more in 24 hours, now I started eating one or two rotis in 24 hours. I was drinking 4 to 8 cups of tea and coffee. I lost weight. By the time my exams were over I was weighing 47 kg. I was shocked.

This routine was responsible for spoiling my results as well. If I had not followed this routine, I am sure I would have topped on all India basis.

The moment my exams were over, I stopped drinking tea and coffee. I will not even look at tea and coffee. For next 30 days I was sleeping all the time. At least 18 hours a day. I was eating as much as I could. I would eat to the point, where it was impossible for me to eat any thing more. I played football as well from school team during 12th class. But I was not happy with my performance in that as well. I was a better person earlier.

My weight won’t move up by even 1 gram in next 5 years. I was exercising, eating heavily, doing every thing on earth to gain back my weight. But during this entire period I never checked my sugar consumption. I believe that during this period my sugar consumption must be on higher side.

During 1984-87, I was going to college and not eating too well. May be I was low on sugar as well. I gained 2-3 kg of weight during this period.

In 1987 I joined a job. I would leave early and will be back home late. My sugar intake was not there. No tea, no milk no home food most of the time. From 1987 to 1993 I gained 15 kg weight. After marriage also the same routine was followed and my weight jumped. From 1993 to 1997 I had lot of job changes. I hardly had any sugar intake during this period. I gained another 8-9 KG. Now I became very conscious of increased weight. I started doing every thing possible to reduce weight. But I won’t come down.

In 1997 I left my job. I started my business. In 1002-2003 I had serious health issues. I stopped concentrating on my business. Now I started thinking about health issues 18 hours a day. I adopted lot of theories. There were certain gains. The things were in control in next few years. But I was not happy. My weight came down from 76 to 67. But after some time went up to 72-73.

I started doing the exercises suggested above. I was reasonably regular as well. But my weight went up to 78-79 KG. During this period lot of people suggested that reducing the sugar intake will help in losing weight. During this period my sugar consumption was least. There were other changes as well.

Now I have decided to increase my sugar intake. I will try to reduce my weight by simply targeting spreading of sugar intake evenly during the day. Every 1 hour I will eat about 1/2 to 1 tea spoon of sugar. That will make about 100 to 150 calories by sugar intake. Let us see if I can lose weight this way.

  • There are 100s of myths about things that can help you to lose weight.

Why?

Weight Loss Blog 2015

Average consumption of an adult is 2100 to 2500 calories in a day (24 hours). There are 1440 minutes in a day. That makes it 1.5 calories per minute. An overweight person already has poor metabolic system. What does that mean?

Weight Loss Blog 2015
